My beauty, my rules!

lear how to care your skin. Your skin care, your rules

When your routine includes a single product, it’s easy to set the rules of use: Morning and/ or Night. Obvious! It’s specified on the product’s directions taking into account the ingredients and their purpose. However, admit it, this hardly ever happens.

Since the basic rules to achieve radiant skin are cleansing, moisturizing and treating, you can easily make out that you will need more than one product.

You will agree with me that it’s impossible to list all possible routines on one single packaging. They are endless. Only you know your own skin and how it reacts, but we all have the same goal: look good to feel good.

At Labelist, we’ll help you set your routine and select the most suitable products according to the skin need you want to tackle.

Let’s get started!

Facial cleansing and moisturizing are mandatory steps in any routine. Cleaning with tensioactives would be advisable on alternate days and once a day. As for hydration, it should be done daily, in the morning and at night. Remember that a hydrated skin is the beginning of any treatment.

Easy, so far, isn’t it? Let’s go on with the rest of the products. A simple trick is learning to separate morning from night skin needs. Just let common sense prevail.

In the morning, we must protect our skin.

During the day our skin is exposed to continuous stress caused by internal and external agents. The main internal factors are fatigue and stress and the external ones are natural radiation (the sun), digital radiation (mobile phone screens, computers, wifi) and pollution. These causes weaken the skin barrier and over time contribute to premature ageing. It is important to mention that the skin’s defence mechanisms partially repair the damage caused, but, unfortunately, over the years this capacity diminishes. So, there is no doubt, in the morning we must help the skin to protect itself. To do this, moisturize your skin and stimulate your defenses with antioxidants. And don’t forget to apply a broad SPF every single day!

In the evening help to REPAIR and TREAT the skin

At the end of the day is the time when our skin is weakest and, therefore, most receptive and permeable. In addition, at night the skin enters a phase of maximizing hydration, renewal of cells and important proteins such as collagen and elastin. The skin is restored, detoxified, fights the appearance of lines and wrinkles and is revitalized. This is why it is so important to complement your facial care with specific night products.

According to what we have learned, we can split our products into two groups, Morning products to be used to PROTECT.

And Night products to be used to REPAIR and TREAT the skin.

You will probably think, everything makes sense, so far. However, … Which one(s) should I use? Let’s put it in a nutshell:

Vit C + GAG or Multivitamin cocktail?

Vit C + GAG contains Vitamin C and its purpose is to illuminate. Multivitamin cocktail, on the other hand, is a multivitamin, which is much more complete in terms of active ingredients. In this case we would select it by age. Before 35 we would recommend Vit C +GAG and over 35, Multivitamin cocktail to shine as never before.

Salicylic, Niacinamide or Retinol 0,15%?

If you have pimples or blackheads use Salicylic. If you already have spots, use Niacinamide serum. And if some wrinkles have already appeared, use Retinol 0,15%.

We haven’t finished yet. Now, the million-dollar question is: what if my routine includes 2 products, which one shall I use first?  As a general rule of thumb, apply it in order of thickness, starting with the thinnest and going up. So, go from more liquid and transparent to less fluid and more dense. If they are the same in appearance the order of the products will not alter the results.
